HOPEFEST is a small Ontario music festival put on to benefit Sick Kids Hospital and The Make-A-Wish Foundation. This annual festival took place on September 14th at Eaglewood Resort and Conservation Centre, in Pefferlaw Ontario.

We supported HOPEFEST this year with a donation, and Bobby Walker, one of our Greening Homes crew was a very dedicated organizer throughout the event. The 2013 festival raised just under $4000 for the two foundations through a great day of local music, performances and food. Performers of all kinds led the kids on drum dances, reptile tours, clown shows, horse rides, face painting and so much more.  Two full band stages entertained the crowd with performances by local bands and singles acts playing a full selection of music for everyone to enjoy.

“I got into fundraising for Sick Kids Hospital  because of the excellent care and attention they showed my youngest brother, Liam.   Not only did they treat him like the young adult that he is during his stay there, but they also arranged for The Make-A-Wish Foundation to come see him about granting his wish of being able to go to England with his Dad.  With all they have done for Liam I feel I owe them something that money can never repay. ”
Bobby Walker, Greening Homes Crew

We thank Bobby for inviting us to help with this festival, and for his commitment to volunteer for such a great cause.

Till next year!
