On October 4th from 10am-4pm, you can join us for a tour of our deep energy retrofit project at 4 Beechwood Crescent as part of OSEA’s Green Energy Doors Open event. Locations that are part of the renewable energy and energy conservation movement all over the province will be open to visitors.

This project has been selected as one of three finalists in the Innovation in Sustainability category for the CaGBC’s Toronto Chapter Innovation in LEED Awards. Toronto Atmospheric Fund and Harbourfront Centre were the other two finalists. This annual awards event recognizes best-in-class projects and programs working to improve the built environment.

We are thankful for our collaborators – Sustainable Edge and the project architect, Open Architects, whose expertise and vision helped make this project happen. We are also thankful for homeowners who are strongly committed to building a high-performance home. It has been a highly collaborative effort that has inspired and will continue to inspire many others to push the expectations of residential building performance.

Take a look at our event details and come for a tour of a home that has undergone extensive energy efficiency renovations and is nearing completion. It is an active construction site and will be safe for visitors. Greening Homes staff will be on-site to answer questions about the home’s design and construction.

You can take a look at a few of our blog posts about this project’s air tightness here, options for siding here and PV considerations here.

If you’d like to let us know you are coming, you can RSVP here. This will be very helpful with event planning, but is not necessary.

Note – Closed-toe shoes mandatory. Steel-toe boots recommended.
